Garden Grow at Gold Ridge Elementary

Garden Grow History

Garden Grow at Gold Ridge Elementary is the passion project of one of our amazing parent volunteers, Janelle Marion. Janelle began Garden Grown in 2022 as students returned to school full-time after the pandemic. In her own words, "the vision of Garden Grow is for our campus to feel alive and vibrant, reflecting the uniqueness and diversity of each and every staff member and student who spends time here. I want it to provide inspiration and spark joy with each splash of color that plants show us as they grow, while we grow alongside them."

"The mission of Garden Grow is to provide a seed for every student and staff member to plant, in each growing season we share throughout the school year. This is a great opportunity to break away from screens, be outdoors and to learn about growing food to eat or flowers and plants to enjoy looking at."

"A great deal of learning, processing and healing can happen when we get our hands in the dirt, at any age. Better yet, come harvest time, we can soak up the positive energy and love that each sprout was planted in and grown with... beginning from the very seeds they started as. I am genuinely excited to see what blooms from this in the months and years ahead."
